Enhancing your Program

Effective programs are never static.  It is important to continually monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of your program in relation to the outcomes for volunteers, the organisation, and in particular the client group you are servicing.

A simple three step approach to program enhancement is:

Evaluate:

• Determine the measures of a successful program.
• Develop methods of evaluation such as staff surveys, interviews, client satisfaction surveys, analysis of operational statistics.
• Conduct regular evaluations with sensitivity, and formally document.

Reflect:

• Measure results achieved against your expected / desired outcomes.
• Identify areas where the program does not meet expectations.
• Determine, in consultation, potential improvements opportunities.

Adapt:

• Implement changes with appropriate support, such as training and communication.
