| Time Flies When You Are Having Fun!!! “Over 34% adult volunteers in this country work directly with community organizations in order to bring peace, confidence and support to the lives of others, often finding the same rewards for themselves and their families in the process.” said Mrs Morgan, Volunteering Queensland CEO. Volunteers have been described as the silent heroes, doing important work without expecting any recognition. The same can be said for Moyra Walls who volunteers approximately 50 hours per month at the Balmoral Uniting Community Centre as well as at the Mater Hospital. “I still don’t think I deserve any recognition for what I do as I just love the clients and gain so much from them all” Moyra said. Moyra has a disability herself and has been a primary teacher for 22 years and says that she volunteers because she wants to be involved with people and help in any way she can. Volunteering changed Moyra’s life due to the fact that she loves to meet new people and make friends and she feels that she gets more back than what she gives. If you
