Creating a Safer World through Volunteering

Tricia Judd was always encouraged as a child to give back to the community and now as an adult is volunteering with the Safety House Association of Qld.

“There are always things that need to be done in the community,” said Mrs Judd.

Ms Judd is currently President of the association and is always looking at ways of making the world safer, whether it be by the provision of safe houses or businesses, or by personal safety strategies taught within the communities.

“The old saying of everyone has the right to feel safe is correct. It is good to be able to show people how to apply that to their daily lives, said Mrs Judd.

Mrs Judd said that the highlight of her job is hearing that a senior citizen has used a Safety House when in distress.

“I hope that through volunteering I will change the world for someone and I hope that people will learn from my experiences and keep volunteering themselves,” said Mrs Judd.
