The Ekka crowd was delighted by the "tail end" of this year's Grand Parade at the Brisbane show on Wednesday 15th August. Following the traditional show-casing of Queensland's finest live-stock, volunteer animals and their handlers conducted an impressive circuit of the main ring. Approximately 20 organisations, 350 people and 100 dogs, goats and horses participated in this historic tribute to animal-related volunteering. The world President for the International Association for Voluntary Effort (IAVE), Kenn Allen, observed the show from the ring-announcer's box with Di Morgan, CEO of Volunteering Qld Inc. He later described it as the "ultimate volunteering experience". Riding for the Disabled, Moggill Koala Hospital and "Buck" the Broncos horse were some of the groups there on the day.
