"Volunteerism - A Driving Force for Community Building" The International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE) 10th Asia - Pacific Regional Volunteer Conference in Hong Kong, 7 - 9 November 2005
The Conference is intended to propogate the value of volunteerism, and raise public awareness of the importance of volunteering is a moral and civic responsibility that helps enhance social cohesion and contributes to a caring and harmonious society. Community Leadership Resource
This Community Leadership website is the result of a partnership project between the Education and Research Unit of Volunteering Queensland and the School of Learning and Professional Studies (within the Faculty of Education) Queensland University of Technology.

Community leadership is critical to ensuring healthy, sustainable and fair communities. This website aims to provide leaders with a range of practical resources and tools, designed specifically for working in community settings.

What is My Risk Evaluator
My Risk Evaluator is a web-based risk management tool specifically designed for Australian schooling, child care, nonprofit, religious, aged care, volunteering and community organisations.

The ten modules within My Risk Evaluator have been designed to assist organisations understand the basic concepts of risk management. The programme also provides employers and employees with a way to identify risks within their organisations while providing detailed recommendations, checklists and templates that offer a cost-effective way to manage risks.

My Risk Evaluator can help organisations successfully navigate the increasingly complex task of governing or managing a schooling, child care, nonprofit, religious, aged care, volunteering and community organisation.

Develop Your Organisation
Developing Your Organisation was first published in 1994 by the Queensland Government Department of Families for use by the Department’s funded organisations and its resource officers.

The Centre of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies (CPNS) at the Queensland University of Technology was funded by the Department of Communities in 2005 to revise and expand the publication. It is proposed to revise the publication again as required in 2006 and 2007. The Project has a reference group with members from government and peak bodies.

2010 Legacies Now
2010 Legacies Now has developed VolWeb.ca, an online registration system to connect volunteers and event organizers across BC to support events from local festivals to international sporting tournaments.

VolWeb.ca allows volunteers to: access valuable resources, newsletters, educational opportunities and volunteer centres in the community; build volunteer resumes and track volunteer hours and communicate directly with event organizers and volunteer centers.

VolWeb.ca provides volunteer organizations with: the ability to access important resources, tools and templates to help support volunteer programs; communicate with colleagues thru live web-meetings or online discussion boards; directly recruit volunteers; gain profile and raise awareness of volunteerism in the community.
