Volunteering Queensland

Volunteering is central to the effective functioning of our communities and at the core of our efforts to strengthen communities and address social inequities. It is at the heart of an engaged citizenry and an active civil society.

5 models of Volunteering

5 Models of Volunteering

Volunteering Queensland recognises and values the many contexts and ways in which people volunteer. The world of volunteering is undergoing a transformation and there is an exciting wave of engagement through which people are contributing and making a difference in their communities.

Through our consultations, serve and project delivery, as well as education and training programs, we are constantly identifying current issues, trends and opinions about voluntary participation in the community. Click here for up-to-date articles, trends and issues.

We have identified five core ways or models in which volunteering takes place and takes shape. If we are to encourage and support all these various approaches we need to provide different ways of working and different support.
